Agreement of SCAPEUSA.org Membership

Section 1. Currently licensed physicians and dentists who support the mission of the society are eligible for SCAPE membership. The SCAPE Membership Committee (SCAPE-MC) is responsible for processing all member applications periodically and is the official representative of the SCAPE Board of Directors (SCAPE-BOD) for this task. The SCAPE-MC will determine the processing frequency based on the volume of submitted membership applications. All members shall authorize and consent to the officers and representatives of SCAPE representing the organization in performing the defined mission and proposed agenda of the organization. All members shall release all officers, SCAPE-BOD as well as representatives of SCAPE from any and all liability when exercising their defined duties. Membership Eligibility and Responsibility shall be classified as follows:

1.    Active Members(SCAPE)

Active membership shall be granted to currently licensed healthcare professionals (M.D., D.O. and DDS) in the United States and Canada with Ethnic Chinese background in the States, including Chinese Medical Graduates, and graduates of medical schools in the US or other countries who are actively engaging in clinical practice, pursuing post-graduate specialty training or holding responsible positions in a medical practice setting. Active members will be qualified to vote, to serve on committees, and to run for and hold office in the society.

2.    Allied MembersSCAPE联盟会员

Allied membership shall be granted to applicants who currently are not licensed healthcare professionals in the US, but are actively engaging in related roles such as healthcare management, medical education and training as well as other allied healthcare fields. In addition, licensed physicians/dentist in countries other than the United States and Canada, are also eligible for Allied Membership. Allied memberships will be granted through anapplication process, requiringnomination by at least two current SCAPE active members and be approved by the SCAPE-MC and Board of Directors (SCAPE-BOD) on a case-by-case base. Allied Members will enjoy all benefits of the membership other than voting rights and the title "active member(SCAPE)".

Section 2. Documents and applications of SCAPE membership

1.    Applications shall be submitted on the membership application form on the society’s official web site and should include full names in both English and Chinese, state license numbers with indications of the states and locations of physical clinical practice sites, and referees. The said application which has been filled out and signed by the applicant shall be submitted online to the society’s  website and shall be referred to theSCAPE-MCfor evaluation and approval.

2.    All new members must  be referred and recommended by at least one current SCAPE member. All recommending members shall provide their consents to referring the newly qualified applicants before the SCAPE-MC can process their applications. Referees’s  name will be filled along with applicant’s application profil in the SCAPE database.

3.  A  nonrefundable Application Fee equal to one year’s  membership must  be submitted within 30 days of application submission . Upon its approval, the first year of the membership will be granted.

4.  TheSCAPE-MC, upon verification of the applicant’s  licenses, shall refer the applications, with its recommendations, to the SCPAE-BOD for final approval. Allied membership applications shall be decided at the discretion of the SCAPE-BOD and the SCAPE-MC.

5.    The provisional approval of the applications shall be announced on the society’s websitehttp://scapeusa.org and through the WeChat community platform along with emails to the applicants...

6.    Should any objection to an approval of application appear in writing within one month from the date of the posting, the application shall be re-submitted to the SCAPE-BOD meeting via SCAPE-MC for further consideration. The decision of the SCAPE-BOD will be final.

Article IV - Resignation, Expulsion and Reinstatement

Section 1. Any member in good standing may resign his or her membership by presenting a communication to that effect in writing to the society, addressed to theSecretary of the SCAPE-BOD.

Section 2. Upon petition from a member to the President concerning the action of another member considered to be inimical to the best interests of the society, the President shall direct theSCAPE-MC to critically evaluate the allegations. If the SCAPE-MC votes to recommend termination of his/her membership, the member shall be given an opportunity to rebut the allegations in person before the SCAPE-BOD, which can vote on various disciplinary actions, including expulsion from the society, by a two-thirds majority vote of the SCAPE-BOD present and voting. Upon termination of membership,there will not be a refund of membership dues for the year.

Section 3. Any member who may have forfeited his or her good standing in any manner, except by expulsion, may, on payment of the current year's dues, be reinstated as a member by a two-thirdsmajority vote of the SCAPE-BOD.

Article V Dues of SCAPE Membership

Section 1. The annual membership dues shall be such sum as approved by the SCAPE-BOD with a two-thirds majority vote.

Section 2. The annual membership dues shall be due and payable in the amountas fixed, on and before August 1st of each year. Such payments shall be made to the treasurer of the society with a check or money order, or Paypal, payable to the order of the society. Late payments  30 days past due willresult ina late feewhich must be paidbefore membership can be re-granted.

Section 3. Any members in arrears of dues for more than six months shall automatically forfeit the rights and privileges of his or her membership. Inactive membership status is automatically applied , and membership will be regranted after resubmitting application requests and reapproved by the SCAPE-MC.

Article VI Benefits of Membership

Section 1. Active members will  be qualified to vote, to serve on committees, and to run for and hold office in the society.

Section 2. All members will have the priviledge to participate in the annual meeting and other society meetings. All members will have the rights to participate all social activities organized by the society, such as the organized travelling ventures and other social activities.

Section 3. All members shall have the priority rights to apply for participation in various academic summits, Chinese US medical exchange delegation as well as Chinese Medical training and education forums.

Section 4. All members shall be given the opportunities to evaluate , to invest or to join in various startup opportunties sponsored in the planned SCAPE Entrepreneur Incubator for projects such as eHospitals, Private Equity Funds and others.
